The Somali pirates continue to make all sorts of news. The latest being that the ” pirate mothership” sunk by the Indian Navy a few days ago may actually have been a transport ship that was in the process of being hijacked by pirates. The inability of NATO and the local navies to put a stop to pirate attacks in a quick and immediate manner has led to all sorts of nonsense being speculated and bandied about on the news. This just in via the War Nerd, it appears the Somali pirates have struck again. This time hitting a full oil tanker carrying two million barrels of crude oil worth an estimated $100 million. According to news reports, the vessel, the Sirius Star had a crew of 25 who are believed to be safe.
