I was watching Fox News on the treadmill at they gym today, and the guys on TV were mouthing platitudes about GM and bankruptcy.  They were reciting ideological orthodoxy about creative destruction and bankruptcy and free markets and whatnot.  Their discussions had no bearing on the specifics of the GM issue in the current economic environment.  It was like they were viewing it in a total vacuum unrelated to anythign else.  I realized this was happening because the free market conservatives - at least the ones that pontificate on TV - had completely forgotten how and why they became free market enthusiasts in the first place.
